Although he doesn't discover it until the end of the book, Oliver's mother is Agnes and the wicked Edward Leeford is Oliver's paternal half-brother. Oliver also finds that he has an aunt in Rose Maylie, who is the long-lost sister of Oliver's mother Agnes.
