For its impact upon Mankind and its sheer life values and wisdom and in terms of its total sales, there has been no book at all to match 'The Holy Bible' in a worldwide sense.

In terms of fictional works, the answer would depend upon what type of book.

For romance novels, with out a doubt, "Princess Bride" is the greatest book.

For fantasy, the 'Harry Potter' series. For mystery, Nancy Drew ... and so on.

If you want a book I suggest this....

from about age 9-16 i like the action-packed book called "The Lightning Thief" in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. The movie is coming out on President's day, 2010! I really got into the series and finished the book fast (even though the book is pretty darn long!!), but was glad when i saw there was 4 more books in the series. If you like Roman and Greek Mythology and action, This book is for you!!!

then another action book I recommend only for 16+, is The "Da Vinci code". A only saw the movie, but it was really tense. Best action and mystery book I can recommend!

That is so true everyone needs to read the lightning thief its the best book I have read in a while. Right now I am on the third book in the series. I don't want it to end. Oh and just a thought...er... warning,,, time passes way too quickly in this book!!

The Dream House Kings Series is the best series ever. It may be a bit gruesome, but it's the best series you will ever read. The last book is the best.
