Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl who grew up during World War II. While living in Amsterdam in 1942, Anne and her family had to go into hiding due to the increasingly anti-semitic policies of the German Nazi regime. The family was betrayed in 1944 and they were all sent to concentration camps. Anne was sent first to Auschwitz and then to Bergen-Belsen. She died of typhus at Bergen-Belsen in 1945, about three weeks before British soldiers came in to liberate the camp. Anne Frank was 16 years old when she died.

Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who went into hiding during World War II to escape Nazi persecution. She kept a diary while in hiding, which later became a widely read book titled "The Diary of a Young Girl." Sadly, Anne Frank died in a concentration camp in 1945, but her diary has since become a powerful symbol of the Holocaust and the impact of war on innocent lives.
