The Franks were Jewish, but Mrs. Frank and Margot were the devout Jews of the household - Otto and Anne were more Humanists in basic outlook, and while Otto was respectfully attentive of Jewish ritual when it was practiced around him, he did not participate himself. Anne was much like her father in that regard, too.
