Anne Frank's life was marked by persecution and hardship during World War II. She and her family went into hiding from the Nazis in Amsterdam to avoid capture. While in hiding, she wrote a diary that later became a famous account of Jewish life during the Holocaust. Sadly, Anne and most of her family were eventually discovered and deported to concentration camps, where she died at a young age.
