Anne Frank was born in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1929. In 1933 her whole family moved to Amsterdam. She went to school at the Montessori School there. She was very intelligent. For Anne's thirteenth birthday she got a diary and started to write in it every once in a while. In July, 1942, her whole family went into hiding. They were in hiding for over two years. In 1944 they were betrayed and Anne was ultimately sent to Begen-Belsen where soon after she died of typhus. She is remembered mostly for her diary.
