Social inequities
All of his novels highlighted the plight of the poor, featuring what it was like to struggle with English institutions like workhouses, orphanages, debtor prisons and the like. They also showed how unequal and unfair interactions between differing classes could be.
Another theme would be good persevering through adversity. Where the main character suffers great adversity through no fault of his/her own, but by being, persistently good, true to friends, honest, diligent, truthful eventually weathering his/her difficulties and winning out in the end, frequently bringing their friends with them.
But if I had to pick only one theme I would go with the first.
Charles Dickens was concerned about social injustice, poverty, and the harsh conditions faced by the working class during the Industrial Revolution in England. He often critiqued the government, education system, and treatment of the poor in his novels. Dickens also advocated for social reform and improvement of living conditions for the less fortunate.
