Getting fiction books noticed can be hard enough in the mainstream market place. But when you add faith and color to the mix, the number of outlets through which to promote an author's work becomes considerably smaller. But Empowering Everyday Women (EEW) Online Magazine, the nation's leading web publication for Christian women of color is providing a powerful platform to black authors by building a strong reputation with the top Christian publishers in the U.S. like Zondervan, Thomas Nelson, Random House, Moody, Harvest House, and more to deliver ROI for their rosters of minority Christian authors.

For a long time, it has been understood that African American authors are not signed to lucrative publishing deals at the same rate as their white counterparts. While some attribute this trend to racism, others know that faith-based black authors have historically lacked platforms through which to promote their books to available audiences.

But Dianna Hobbs, Founder and Editor In Chief of EEWMagazine.com, the leading urban web publication within the Christian niche, says large publishers have quotas and sales numbers to meet, and need to sign authors who are marketable and can move copies of their books. Through EEW, she and her team have managed to build a loyal base that can produce results for publishers through smart ad campaigns, which has helped provide an outlet for African American Christian authors. "Although we deal with the faith-based industry, the business side of book publishing is the same everywhere," explains Hobbs. "Publishing houses, faith-based or not, need to be profitable and they want to know that these authors can sell. But it's hard to sell books when there aren't any strong outlets that reach the appropriate demographic. Thank God EEW Magazine has grown to a place where we can be that outlet."

According to Earl Graves, Sr., the founder and publisher of Black Enterprise and inductee into the Advertising Hall of Fame, there is a "paucity of publications that are really first class that are reaching an audience more and more hungry for information." EEW Magazine is among those first-class publications geared toward a minority faith-based audience.

In the month of August, EEW has been tapped by Thomas Nelson to promote the August 30 release of CHERISHED, by Kim Cash Tate, who is the first African American Christian author signed to the publisher's roster. The publication was also chosen to launch an ad campaign on behalf of Harvest House author Dr. Tony Evans' "Victory in Spiritual Warfare" which landed at #2 on the Top 50 Black Christian Bestsellers list for August 2011.
