Anne Frank's secret annex was located in her father's business building located at 263 Prinsengracht in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The construction of the annex made the added wall space difficult to discern from the exterior, providing a fairly large hiding area for the Franks family and others on the 2nd and 3rd floors. A bookshelf was placed in front of the only door to the annex. They were in hiding for two years until one of the employees snitched and told on them just for money.
