Tunnels book #1: Will is trying to find his Dad (which he can't find) while being a renegade of the Styx Tunnels book #2 - Deeper: Will stumbles into the Deeps and finds out about a deadly plaque that the Styx made to destroy all Topsoilers Tunnels book #3-Freefall: Will and Chester get lost in the Pore, trying to find out about the garden of Eden and find Dr. Burrows Tunnels book #4-Closer: The Styx will do their best to get revenge on Will, Chester and Dr. Burrows Tunnels book #5- will be released in 2012

The novel takes place at a boys' juvenile detention center situated in the dried up bed of a fictional lake in Texas. Most of the story is set in contemporary time, around the end of the 1990's. There are flashbacks to the town of Green Lake, which existed one hundred ten years earlier before the lake dried up.
