I believe she was an executive director ( general-rank equivalent) of the adult leaders of the Girl Scouts of America and a camp was named in her honor: Camp Edith Macy, which still exists- and functions also as a sort of (OCS) for Girl Scout leaders, an officer training school, if you will. She may have been related to the NYC department store which should be familiar to all- The World"s Largest Store!
