L. Paul Hyatt a contemporary poet has authored well over 640 poems, 175 of which were published in his first release entitled My Words which features his work written between the years of 1986 through 1987. Paul is a retired history professor from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, the town in which he still resides. His work encapsulates many of his childhood memories of life on an Alabama cotton and corn farm, his memories of teaching a one-room school as a young adult and also intimates the deep appreciation for nature he had from growing up as a farm boy. Through his artistry in the medium of poetry he has been able to convey to his readers his astute understanding of historic places and events in poems such as The Battle of Thermopylae-480 BC, The Battle of Quebec-1759 and The Battle of Bunker Hill-1775 to name just a few.

Published Work: My Words, ISBN 9780982683330, Library Of Congress Control Number 2011924843, a hardcover book of original poetry released to the public in Sept 30, 2011 by Bristly Pine Publishing and being sold as the first of a series of five volumes of contemporary poetry
