The Lord's Prayer was taught by Jesus to his disciples, so the first person who would have said it was likely one of his disciples or followers.
the LORDS prayer
slava bogy
yes!
The Lord's Prayer begins -" Our Father which art in Heaven." It was given to the 12 disciples by our Lord Jesus Christ at their request to him to teach them to pray. We call it the Lord's Prayer as it was given by the Lord Jesus for our Lord God in heaven.
If you are not a Vice lord this should not be important to you. Not to be rude but only Vice Lords should know this
It is simply the way we Christians refer to God when we pray, I usually say Dear Heavenly father and so on. The Lords prayer was Jesus teaching us how to pray, we say God is the father, Jesus the son and then there's the holy spirit. So God is our father in Heaven
We offer our prayers to the Father to thank Him for all that He has done for us, to partition Him for things we are in need of and close our prayer in the name of Jesus Christ. Many people recite the Lords Prayer, but they forget that Christ only gave them this as a guide as to what to say, and not to use it as an actual prayer. What you ask for or thank Him for in your prayer does not have to be the same each time. You pray as guided by the Spirit.
We must thank god for our food as Jesus always prayed before he ate, we can see it in the feeding of the 5,000. It is also mentioned in the lords prayer.
Jesus first said the Lord's Prayer during his Sermon on the Mount, as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew.
Say a Prayer was created in 1993.
The Lords Prayer as it is known as is not actually a prayer. It was said by Christ as a lesson on how to pray. Man has taken it upon himself to use it as an actual prayer. In Matthew 6:9 we read "After this manner therefore pray ye:" Manner means "How something is done". In other words in this fashion will you pray. Nowhere does Christ say this is what you must say. That said, the original question is "why do we have it," and the answer to that is: Because Jesus told the disciples they should pray, and they said something along the lines of "Oh, prayer, right, yeah, very good. Um, how do we do that?" and so he provided them with a model prayer. As noted above, he didn't necessarily intend for them to recite it word for word as if it were a magic incantation, though perhaps unsurprisingly it IS an awfully good prayer if you stop and think about what it's saying instead of just rattling it off by rote.
