George Orwell wants the reader to take multiple messages from the novel, but the message he reveals about education is that ignorance only makes it easier to become overpowered and if one does not have the ability to think for him/herself then someone else will do it for them.
Orwell's desire was not change, but warning. Warning to a people who did not question authority, the laws enacted by that authority, and to fear those who desire absolute power. Power is in information, how that information in given to those who do not question and the horrible possibilities of abesolute power, which... corrupts abesolutely.

In a literal sense, George Orwell satirizes the Bolshevik Revolution and Soviet communism. Orwell does not specifically target the communist system, but instead presents an allegory of the corruption of government in general.Using Animal Farm, Orwell mocks the rebels of the Bolshevik Revolution. The revolutionists want to overthrow the Russian Czar because of cruel and unfair treatment. Once the Czar is defeated, however, the leaders of the revolution (now proclaimed as leaders of the Soviet Union) become corrupted with power and end up resembling exactly what they were revolting against in the first place.
