S.E.Hnton did not like what she was forced to read whilst in high school so she felt compelled to write novels for young adults. As a freshman still in high school she began to write her most famous book The Outsiders. She was not afraid to expose acts of juvenile delinquency, teenage rebellion or the social conduct found in teenage subcultures and this led her to write 4 more books including Rumble Fish

that tried not to preach at the teens but express their feelings.
