From my research the play written by femi osofisan is an adaptation of euripides play which was written during the season of the Iraqi war. This writter was then able to connect the trojan, and the nigerian mythical war, which dated back to 1821. Femi the epic play writter, i would say wrote this play out of an over whelming inspiration, evocked as a result of his well grounded knowledge of the nigerian history. Femi osofisan the amazing writter, critic, poet and novelist, was born at ibadan, in the year 1946, and was quite awere of the nigerian political status at the time. Most of the nigerian nationalist originated from ibadan, so he was sure to be updated at the then nigerian civil war. This i believe also played a vital role in femi's inspiration.
