im a teenager myself so its easy for me to answer this. we write in diaries/jounals because we can write about how we feel: if we've had a bad day and feel misunderstood then we can write about what has happened. its a kind of closure for us and helps us get over it and feel better. its also great to look over later on in life and to laugh about with best friends.
