Theater critic David Cote wrote a book about the making of the musical 'Wicked'. The book's title is 'Wicked: The Grimmerie, A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Hit Broadway Musical'. It was published in October 2005 by Hyperion. It's 192 pages in length. The book is co-authored with photographer Joan Marcus and 'Wicked' creators Winnie Holzman [b. 1954] and Stephen Lawrence Schwartz [b. March 6, 1948].
The poster for the musical 'Wicked' was the result of meetings between 'Wicked' producers David Stone and Marc Platt with Serino Coyne Inc., a well-respected live-entertainment advertising agency. An agency artist created the drawing based on concepts developed in the meetings. This information is included in Carol de Giere's book, 'Defying Gravity: The Creative Career of Stephen Schwartz from Godspell to Wicked' [New York: Applause Books, 2008].

King David (a married man) had sex with, and impregnated, Bathsheba, a married woman. When Uriah, Bathsheba's husband, did not follow David's orders (which would have covered up who impregnated Bathsheba), David had Uriah killed in battle. The baby, conceived by David and Bathsheba, died after it was born. David was forgiven, but, his sons and daughters suffered for having a wicked father and king. David was not allowed to build a Holy temple to God in Jerusalem. His son, Solomon, was allowed that privilege.

David's name appears in the New Testament some 54 times, though it is often in reference to Jesus as the "son of David" (Matt. 9:27 for example). Joseph (the husband of Mary) is also called "son of David" in Matthew 1:20.Of the 54 mentions, about 33 of them are direct references to David himself. His name is also used regarding things pertaining to him, such as the "house of David," "seed of David," "city of David," "the sure mercies of David" and the "tabernacle of David."
