sounds like a transmission replacement is needed. you could always buy it from a scrap yard or online, but you most likely wont get a warranty and it may not even work once it is installed. the best route would be to just buy a new transmission, and if you have the know how, install it yourself.
inspect trans filter. had similar symptoms on my '95
The same problem with my Lincoln town car. When disassembled the transmission, it was evident that the reverse piston did not move, "valve body" can not reverse the piston to move. All valves tested by documentation. I can not understand the problem!
You must REBUILD the transmission.
I am having the same problem on my 94. It will go into drive but that is it.
Most likely it is. I have had several neutral safety switch issues before, and it sounds like what happened to me. If you put it in reverse do the reverse lights light up? If not that is also a safety switch problem.
you have a problem in your torque converter or transmission pump
When we have this problem, we turn the ignition off and shift into neutral, restart the engine and it can then be shifted into drive or reverse.
I cant find neutral or reverse on the one I have 1954 super 10
Could be low on transmission fluid. If so you have a heck-of-an oil leak.
park,reverse,neutral,drive,low2,and low1
it will drive but when in reverse it wont move
If the neutral and reverse lights on a Honda 350 Rancher do not illuminate when the key is turned on, it could indicate a few potential issues. First, check the wiring and connections to ensure there are no loose or damaged wires. A faulty neutral switch or reverse switch may also be the culprit, preventing the circuit from completing. Additionally, a blown fuse or a problem with the ignition system could affect the lights' functionality.
