My 2001 Nissan frontier 3.3 v6 engine is overheating. I changed the thermostat but it still overheats.

There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.
I was told by my mechanic that the bulb is hardwired straight to computer, therefore there is no fuse.

check the gear at the end of the distrubutor and or check the end of the cam shaft Are the cams moving at all?
