If the heater in a 2002 Grand Am only blows on settings 4 and 5, it likely indicates a problem with the blower motor resistor. This component controls the speed of the blower motor, and if it's faulty, it may only allow high speeds (4 and 5) to function while lower speeds (1, 2, and 3) do not work. Another possibility could be an issue with the climate control switch itself. Inspecting or replacing the blower motor resistor is a good first step to resolve this issue.
You are likely in an antarctic region.
Defective heater resistor pack.
Could be,a stuck open thermostat, low on coolant, plugged heater core, faulty temp blend door actuator,
ihave a 1986 chevette that when i turn defrost on it blows out heat and when i put heater on it blows out only cold air? ihave a 1986 chevette that when i turn defrost on it blows out heat and when i put heater on it blows out only cold air?
The heater fan ONLY blows the air, it does not make the temperature of that air. Your heater temperature controls how hot the air is. Adjust your heater temperature for hotter or cooler air.
heater vent will not readjust to any position
blower motor resister is bad
vacuum line from intake manifold to control unit in dash broken or disconnected
it is a heater. heat. it blows heat. warm air
sounds like your belt is off or broke
Typically a relay or resistor. But could be a blower switch or blower motor problem.
The most common reason a automobile heater blows cold air is the water level is low. Check the water level and fill to the appropriate level.
