It is in the fuel tank. Take out the back seat cushions to gain access to it. Should take about 45 minutes to change it.
The fuel filter on a gas engine is inside the fuel tank on the pump.
The fuel filter is integrated with the fuel pump module inside the fuel tank. The fuel filter itself is not a seviceable item.

2005 Kia Spectra does not contain a external fuel filter but rather has a fuel filter in the fuel pump it self. The filter in the pump is said to be a lifetime filter, but can be replaced if desired. The only time to replace the filter is if the pump itself is being replaced or serviced, otherwise its not necessary to replace

there is no fuel filter, after 2000 majority of cars do not use fuel filter mainly import cars, the only "fuel fillter" now is in the gas tank connected to the pump, but those are lifetime filters, (more of a strainer than a filter) if your wanting to keep you fuel system clean, just use a fuel injector cleaner or fuel system cleaner
