They are, BUT PH3614 is a smaller filter, it has half the volume of oil disponibility for cold starts and reduced filtration flow capacity (70% compared to PH8A), keep this in consideration. If your vehicle is not a hard working car (long hours, high temperature environment, heavy loads) you may do this switch, but is not the best for your engine.
