They keep you from rolling over in a sudden evasive manuver. You can drive carefully with them broken or missing. Some people take them off while off-roading. They are easy to replace. It's just basically a tough bolt. If the old ones are rusted up, just spray with some pb blaster or wd 40 before. If they are really seized up, then use a hack saw or dremel and cut them out . The new ones are a breeze to put in. They only cost about $25.00 for both sides at NAPA. Tighten them until the bushings are slightly squeezed together or about 25 pounds.

No, sway bar links and sway bar pins are not the same. Sway bar links connect the sway bar (or anti-roll bar) to the vehicle's suspension components, helping to reduce body roll during turns. Sway bar pins, on the other hand, typically refer to fasteners or bolts used to secure components of the sway bar assembly. While both are related to the sway bar system, they serve different functions.

What do the sway bar links do?

A sway bar is a torsion bar mounted laterally on a suspension and is designed to reduce side sway. The sway bar attempts to accomplish this by transferring movement from one side of the suspension to the other.
