Can you replace a 96 F-150 E4od tranny with a 79 C-6 tranny if both are 4wd and if so what is involved in doing it?
The E4od is a different creature than a C-6. First, the bell housing bolts must line up and the torque converter must be the same. The rear support has to work. I don't think all those will be the same, probably not. Next, the E4od is a computer controlled transmission and is tied into the vehicle's computer. Getting the thing to work would require a lot of work.
