You can do it but be careful not to break the prongs
I was informed by a BMW dealer there isn't a battery to replace and you have to order a new remote and then have it programmed by the dealer.
Replace the battery on your remote key. If you get the dealer to do it for you it is notoriously expensive. Did you try unlocking the passenger side with the key?
First guess; the battery is dead. If you replace the battery and that doesn't solve the problem, you may need to have the dealer reprogram the remote for your lock code.
go to radio shack or dealer, rs is alot cheaper
Cut open the remote with xacto knife , unsolder and replace the battery.
I had the same problem... I had to replace the battery in my remote at the dealer... hope this helps
To replace the battery in a Liftmaster remote, locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote, open it, remove the old battery, and insert a new one of the same type. Close the compartment securely.
The dealer
Most of the time all you need to do is replace the battery. If it doesn't work after that, you will need to take it to a dealer.
Open the keyless remote and you will see the battery take it out and replace it with the same size.
