In North America, that would be any API CJ-4 rated diesel oil.
15W-40 tends to be used as a "default" in many places... to go up to a 30W would typically require an environment with extremely high temperatures. And, without knowing which engine it is, we have no way of knowing how tight the tolerances of that engine are... if it's an engine of extremely tight tolerances, you don't want to go with anything heavier than the OEM recommendation.
