Yes
Yes, if the timing belt broke or skipped, the engine won't start.
Happened to me in a Ford, I guess it could be many things but mine stoped because the Timing Chain broke
It could.
No. This car does not have a timing belt.
Sounds like maybe the timing belt/timing chain broke or jumped. If it will not run at all, I'd guess broke.
Timing belt
This engine (3.0L) is an interference engine so yes, the engine could lock up if the timing belt jumped.
My experience tells me it is a non interference engine and it is unlikely to have damage.
Yes, a broken timing chain on a 1999 Nissan Frontier can cause the engine to lock up. When the timing chain fails, it can result in the engine's pistons and valves colliding, leading to severe internal damage. This collision can seize the engine, making it inoperable. It's essential to address timing chain issues promptly to avoid such catastrophic damage.
could be the timing belt
My timing belt was almost broke and they sais that it was a good thing that I got it to the dealer when I did, or the entire thing would have been wrecked. I don't think even a new engine would help Daewoo's have interference engines, more them likely you bent some or all of the valves...
A bad timing belt could make the engine shut down but it would only happen once, not sometimes.
