A squeak squeak squeak noise is one of two things
If it is a dry grating wine it is a bad bearing in a pulley or driven accessory (alternator, water pump, AC pump etc)
If it is a steady squeal the belt is slipping and is hard and glazed or the tensioner is seized and allowing it to run loose or one of the pulley things is seized.
i
lubricate your serpentine belt with some belt grease or some WD-40 and see if it doesn't stop.
would the fan belt on a v8 motor cause squeaking
Mine isn't squeaking. Yours is because your pulleys aren't aligned or because you are using an improper belt.
Belt dressing if the belt is in good condition. Make sure that it is not a pulley squeaking and if the belt is in bad shape replace it.
A squeaking belt on a 1999 Grand Am is often caused by wear and tear, misalignment, or improper tension of the serpentine belt. It could also indicate a problem with one of the belt-driven accessories, such as the alternator or power steering pump. Inspect the belt for cracks or fraying, and check the tensioner for proper function. Replacing the belt or adjusting the tensioner should resolve the squeaking issue.
belt slipping?
Belt is loose and slipping
te alternaor belt may be slipping causing the squeaking as it returns charge to the battery
What exactly do you want to know about it?? If its squeaking get a new one. You local auto parts store will have one.
Start with serpentine belt, then belt tensioner or pulleys, maybe water pump or cam shaft distributor
Drive belt too loose!
