Most alternators are interchangeable. You will need to use an alternator that has the correct amperage for the make and model of your automobile.
Odds are the battery voltage is low. The alternator could be faulty or the belt could be loose or broken.
Could be a loose ground causing a "spike" in the electrical system
An alternator and a dynamo could both be called generators.
My mom had a 4 door daewoo leganza and my sister a 2 door daewoo lanos hatchback. Those cars are a piece, and the parts are difficult if not impossible to find. Id say its time to go looking for another used car.
I have a 2.0 1995 Mercury mystique the battery charge light was on no output on old alternator. Replaced alternator No output from new alternator "charge light out" (wiggle test wires& re-check wires) at alternator *still no output* is there a fuse that could be the problem or just another bad alternator... I would check the alternator plug before getting another alternator, it may be bad. And is a lot cheaper to replace.
The warning light could be for anything engine, alternator, abs, ect it would be best to go to your local garage for an OBD check this is where they plug your car to a computer to find the fault.
Hello, There are many symptoms of a bad alternator that you should pay attention to: If your alternator is not working properly it might affect how the alternator belt is turning. An alternator that is not working properly will make an audible sound. Removing the alternator belt can confirm if noise is coming from the alternator. Another symptom is if anything electrical slows (windows, seats, etc) or the lights dim while you are driving. Yet another symptom is experiencing difficulties starting your car. This could be an issue with the battery, so make sure that you check the terminals and note the age of the battery. If your battery frequently discharges then this is another sign of a bad alternator. Hope this helps!
That could be the alternator or the battery. Try jump starting your car with another car's battery. If it still does not start, it is probably the alternator. If it starts, your battery is dead.
This could also be alternator problems as in a bad diode in the alternator.
1. The battery could be dead. 2. The starter could be stuffed. 3. The alternator Could be stuffed. Put another battery in see what happens.
