if it wont crank the the starter is probally out but if it cranks and the motor doesnt turn either the belt is to loose or the engine is locked up
If it is a diesel engine, both will power it (parallel) still running 12 volts
diesel power plant
The power of the engine of the peugeot 404 diesel 1965 is 67 hp
total power produced engine is called indicated power.
Re-build your diesel. Put on a custom chip and that will make up for engine power loss.
You can do this but you will need to change: Front springs(diesel is heavier then gas of same size) transmission or transmission software( to match diesels power curve and torque) final drive gear ratio to match low rpm diesel fabricate motor mounts extensive re-wireing for diesel engine engine cooling system (radiator and hoses) much fabrication needed to run engine accesory drives(a/c, power steering, alternator etc) Upgrage engine starter and wiring per diesel needs much bigger battery and battery box Good luck to you, this can be done but extensive fabrication needed
In diesel engine fuel to power ratio is 1:50
A diesel locomotive is actually a hybrid engine. The diesel engine generates electricity, which is transferred from a motor to the wheels.
Diesel engines have such a high engine compression ratio, they require a more powerful starter, which in turn requires more battery power. That is why diesels have two batteries.
by a battery
You will need to have some information ready. It is good to know the horsepower and the torque of your diesel engine.
Tighten it up!
