if you mean on the train, then no, rollercoasters aren't driven by engines. they are mostly driven by gravity. But, if it's launched , then it does use an engine to accelarate, but only the first part. the only other motor on a rollercoaster is the motor that drives the chain lift, provided that it has one. none of these however, are on the train (where you sit/stand while riding)
