yes they sound like 4 wheel drive mud tires when bad you can tell what side is bad by turning the wheel slightly to the left and then right while going straight
Bad tire Bad wheel bearing Swap tires front to rear and see if problem changes Check wheel bearings for "play"
the truck has hubs. 4x4 front wheel bearings are not serviceable.
the front wheel bearings are a sealed unit, requiring a front hub assembly. when i bought mine it was a dealer item only
Aside from the aforementioned imbalanced tire and alignment (which could be incorrect toe in, castor, or camber), worn/damaged steering components, worn shackle pins, faulty wheel bearings, and damaged rims are another possibility.
drawing for bearings and seals of front differential axle
My front wheel bearings just went in my 04 mountaineer, and we tried to replace them ourselves, but in order to get to the bearings you have to have the truck up on a lift, so unfortunately we had to send it to a mechanic.
Front or rear bearings? 2 or 4 wheel drive? year of truck?
If the truck is backing up with the front tires turned, the rear of the trailer will swing in the opposite direction of the front tires. For example, if the front tires are turned to the right, the rear of the trailer will swing to the left. This pivoting effect occurs because the trailer follows a different path than the truck's front end. Proper alignment and steering adjustments are crucial to control the trailer's movement while backing up.
If the truck is a 4 wheel drive, you can't repack the front wheel bearings. It has a sealed hub/bearing assembly that is not serviceable.
between 2 front tires ,it has a bolt screwed into it.
they are not adjustable they are sealed units
sorry to have to tell you this but the bearings are part of the wheel hub and sealed within. you need to change the entire hub. $$$$$$$
