Dropping the tank is a hassle, make sure the tank is almost empty if possible and the hoses connected to the top of the tank can be a bear to get disconnected. Make sure to check all of your wire connections (especially) the ground wire near the fuel tank, and the relay with a volt/ohm meter before condemning the fuel pump.
