timing CHAIN
Chain.
The 3.5 litre V6 engine in a 2009 Ford Flex has ( 1 timing CHAIN to each cylinder head , so there are 2 timing CHAINS )
It has a timing CHAIN
The 2011 Ford Fusion is equipped with a timing chain rather than a timing belt. Timing chains are generally more durable and require less frequent maintenance compared to timing belts. However, it's still important to keep an eye on the overall condition of the chain and related components over time.
On a 2009 Ford Focus , 2.0 liter four cylinder engine : It must have a timing CHAIN ( the Gates website , they make timing belts etcetera , does not have any listing for a timing belt )
The 2014 and 2015 Ford Fusion are equipped with a timing chain rather than a timing belt. Timing chains are generally more durable and designed to last the life of the engine, while timing belts typically require replacement at specific intervals. Therefore, owners of these models do not need to worry about timing belt maintenance.
The 2013 Ford Fusion with the 2.5L engine is equipped with a timing belt, not a timing chain. Timing belts typically require replacement at regular intervals, while timing chains are generally designed to last the lifetime of the engine. It's important to follow the manufacturer's maintenance recommendations for the timing belt to avoid potential engine damage.
I was looking at the Gates website ( they make timing belts etcetera ) and happened to choose the ( 2006 ) model year of the Ford Fusion , and they don't list a timing belt for the 2.3 liter four cylinder engine or the 3.0 liter V6 engine . As far as I know the four cylinder has ( 1 ) timing CHAIN and the V6 engine has ( 2 ) timing CHAINS ( 1 chain to each cylinder head )
Timing chains are designed to last the lifetime of the engine. It is timing belts that require changing at certain intervals.
