I wouldn't think so , I saw a mechanic unplug the wiring harness to my fuel

pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) with the engine running as a way of

removing the pressure from the fuel lines ( he just waited for the engine to stop

running after that )

So , just carefully unplug the wire connection to the switch
