Look for the wiring harness coming from the top of your fuel tank. There should be a single black wire all by itself. If you were to follow that wire, you will see that it is attached to ground, or at least should be. If the connection is corroded, there is a possibility the connection is not grounded. If not the ground wire, you may have to replace the fuel sending unit inside the tank.
fuel gauge not working
If your Peugeot 106 fuel gauge has stopped working, the issue could be due to a faulty fuel sender unit, a blown fuse, or a malfunctioning gauge itself. Start by checking the fuse box for any blown fuses related to the fuel system. If the fuses are intact, inspect the wiring and connections to the fuel sender unit located in the fuel tank. If necessary, consider consulting a mechanic to diagnose and repair the issue.
Yes, there is a fuse for this. It should be labeled INST.
A blown fuse can cause your fuel gauge and speedometer to stop working. Replace the fuse. The fuse can be found in the fuse box. The location of the fuse will be listed on the inside cover of the fuse box.
I have the same problem, Audi have told me to check sender unit in fuel tank, if this doesn't show up anything then they will put it on their fault reader which could point to to a faulty fuel gauge pod. have you solved your fuel gauge problem yet ?
you need a new fuel level sensor,
It could be a fuse or the fuel sending unit. On that vehicle the fuel sending unit can be accessed by removing the rear seat.
In most cases the fuel gauge sending unit inside the fuel tank is at fault.
I had this issue for about two years..It stopped working..I took it to the Dealer and they blew me off by saying that the line is shot and it would cost $700 to replace and they talked me out of it... But there is an underlying issue when your guess gauge is not working- your fuel pump is going..Like I said it took two years and bam, fuel pump went. When they replaced it by gas gauge began to work again. This line is tied into the both the gauge and fuel pump..It cost me $1,000 from the dealer plus towing...
