To replace the computer control module (ECM) in a Saturn, first disconnect the vehicle's battery to ensure safety. Locate the ECM, usually found near the engine or under the dashboard, and remove any necessary covers or panels. Disconnect the wiring harness and mounting bolts, then carefully remove the old module. Install the new ECM by reversing the process, reconnecting the wiring harness, securing it with bolts, and reattaching any covers before reconnecting the battery.

When replacing the timing belt on a 1999 Suzuki engine, it is not necessary to reset the computer. However, it is advisable to disconnect the battery before starting the replacement process to avoid any electrical issues. After the belt replacement, if there are any engine performance issues, you might need to reset the engine control unit (ECU) by disconnecting the battery for a short period. Always consult the vehicle's service manual for specific instructions.
