BP is drilling two relief wells. These wells will plug the blown out well from the bottom using a heavy mud, designed to overcome the pressure of oil coming out of the well. It is a reliable method, but takes time. The well should be plugged (no more leaks) in early August. The final step is to pour cement into the blown out well, to create a permanent seal.

BP put a new cap on the leaking pipe, but, as of July 14, 2010; no one knows if it's working to stop most of the oil from escaping the leak.
The BP oil leak in 2010 was caused by a well blowout on the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig, which was due to a combination of human error, equipment failure, and a lack of proper safety measures. This resulted in a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
This depends on which oil spill is being referred to. A dinosaur was revived under the oil rig causing it to fall over and leak oil... luckily the oil also killed the dinosaur returning earth to its proper balance.
