The collar on the tailshaft is just threaded & a clip holds the other end into the speedo (generally)
remove cable from the transmission and remove the cable from the back of the speedometer up under the dash and then the complete cable can be pulled out.

there is no cable you have speed sensors located in the tail shaft of the transmission
