Press the emergency brake in very slowly. And watch when they go off. Have somebody watch when they go off.
headlights
Well, the daytime running lights are on whenever the car is running and in gear. They're off when you have the headlights on. So, your service light Doesn't come on when the headlights are on?? If you switch the headlights between on and off (with the car running and in gear) does the service light follow?
how do i fix my daytime running lights on my 2001 grand prix gt headlights work perfect
Check the daytime running light module
I take it you have daytime running lights , if so by engaging the emergency / parking brake the daytime running lights should go off
Someone has changed the wiring.
Many automotive stores carry a module that you wire into the car's headlight system that will allow the headlights to run always on when the engine is running. One such example is here. http://www.brandsonsale.com/daytime-running-light-kit.html (Google for Day Time Running Light Kit and you'll see several different options as well)
I just fixed this problem , it was my daytime running light module
Auto headlights come on when it is dark. Daytime running lights are on whenever the engine is on. Both are optional equipment.
DRL is your daytime running lamps, meaning that your headlights are on for safety during daytime driving. HID is just the type of bulb, very bright, the ones you dont want to meet at night.
Sounds like your vehicle is equipped with the daytime running lights (DRL system) When the vehicle is started and the emergency brake is released , the daytime running lamps automatically come on. Start your vehicle and then apply the parking brake to see if the headlights shut off , if they do then you have the DRL system.
I'm not sure I understand your question. DRL stands for daytime running lights. Your daytime running lights are on the front of your car; when you are driving, even if you have the headlights in the off position, the DRLs will be on. It's a safety feature.
