I am not a mechanic but saw my mechanic change it on my car. Go underneath the car. One of the pulley wheels the belt goes through needs to be pried back with a screw driver or something similar to release the tension on the belt. Only one of the pulley wheels will move, so try each one. On my car, the pulley was slightly rusted, so he WD 40'ed it first. It was still a little stiff, and he had to use a lot of elbow grease. Remove and replace belt. Good luck.
Change the belt
100,000 miles
what is the engine size?
Yes , the 3.0 liter SOHC - V6 engine in a 1999 Dodge Caravan has a timing BELT . Replace every 60,000 miles according to the Gates website
You don't change the belt because it has a timing chain.
A 2012 Dodge Caravan would have the 3.6L V6. That engine has a timing chain which does not require replacement unless worn.
The 1990 dodge caravan has a transverse mounted engine therefore it doesn't have a fan belt!
There should be a diagram under the hood for that year.
A 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan has one belt.
The 2.4L and 3.0L's have timing belts. The 3.3L and 3.8L's use a timing chain
Not sure ,but it costs $115 to change mine on my 1998 Dodge Durango.
PUT A NEW BELT ON IT
