After removal of the assembly I found that the lamp-holders [sockets] had to be removed from the tail light assembly by turning about a quarter [1/4] turn counterclockwise, and then just gently pulling the lamp-holder from the assembly.
Once I learned that, from then on, instead of removing the entire assembly and all of those pesky screws, I simply would lie down on the driveway directly below the tail light assembly, REACH UP INTO THE OPEN TRUCK BODY, feel for and grasp the lamp-holder/socket, turn it a quarter turn counterclockwise, pull gently, and thus remove the lamp-holder/socket which holds the "bad" lamp/bulb.
Then I lower it down slightly [allowing it to hang by the wiring harness], remove the "old" lamp [bulb], insert the "new" lamp, and then reach up to reinsert the lamp-holder into the tail light assembly, and then lock it back in with a quarter turn clockwise.
The ONLY problem with this technique is that there's not a lot of room, and thus it's difficult to "see" what you are doing and you have to work by "feel," but with a few trial attempts, you can "get the hang" of it , and this procedure is a lot faster, and easier than removing and replacing all those lousy screws and the entire tail light assembly.
