Go to a FLAPS (friendly local auto parts store) and buy a can or radiator cleaner/flush. If you have the bux buy a prestone fluch kit and install it to the directions included.

Pull the top and bottom radiator hose. Drain into pan and dispose of old coolant properly.

Drain the coolant expansion tank at the same time.

Put bottom radiator hose on and secure the clamp.

Turn cab heater temp on high heat to open valve.

Run the flush through the engine follow directions on the can.

Drain and flush with clean , low hardness water by re-filling , running for 5 min and draining the engine at least 3x. Don't be in a hurry, after each shutdown let the engine sit for 5 minutes to minimize chance of warping the block. Make sure you properly dispose of the contaminated flush water.

Refill the engine with the correct mix of anti-freeze and distilled water. Fill both the radiator top neck and the upper engine radiator hose. Put it back together and fill the coolant expansion tank at least 3/4 full. Run the engine watching the temperature gauge until engine is at operating temp. If it starts to overheat you didn't fully fill the engine and radiator, pull the top hose after cooldown and add coolant.

Keep an eye on the recovery tank level for the next few days , add coolant as required to attain the min (cold) mark at engine cold...

Good luck.

Always check and fill from the rad neck. If your car is equipped with a reservoir tank it will be attached by a hose to the neck of the rad. Follow it to find it.I hope this helps you. Mark

How do you change the antifreeze on a Peugeot 406?

To change the antifreeze on a Peugeot 406, start by ensuring the engine is cool and then open the radiator cap.
