To change the high-pressure fuel pump on a 2005 Duramax, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove the fuel lines and any necessary components obstructing access to the pump, such as the intake manifold or brackets. Carefully unbolt and remove the old pump, then install the new pump, securing it in place and reconnecting the fuel lines. Finally, reassemble any removed components and reconnect the battery before starting the engine to check for leaks.
I have a C4500 with a 6.6 Duramax and it takes 16qts. with the filter, also change your fuel filter with every oil change.
Where is the fuel pump on a 2003 duramax diesel
The P1093 code on a 2004 Duramax typically indicates an issue with the fuel rail pressure sensor or the fuel system. To fix it, start by checking the fuel rail pressure sensor for proper operation and connections. Inspect the fuel filter for clogs and replace it if necessary. If those components are functioning correctly, consider examining the fuel lines and injectors for any leaks or blockages.
location of fuel pump 2003 chevy 3500 duramax diesel
Every 16,000 miles the fuel filter should be changed. I do it every other oil change. The 2006 has a change fuel filter reminder on the DIC, but I don't know how it calculates the change interval. Fuel filter change is critical on the duramax because of the extremely high pressures of the common rail injection system. Any water or debris can cause major injector damage.
