They didn't make this one easy. My information is based on the 2002 model so it may vary a bit. You have to open the hood and remove the air filter box. The battery is underneath. You then have to remove your tire (yeah, crazy) in order to access the panel that allows you to remove the battery. Once you have the access panel in the wheel well off, you can unbrace the battery and pull it out through the wheel well. I recently had to do this myself and was scratching my head the whole time.
A block heater was not standard equipment on a 2001 Chrysler 300m.
