You will need Torx T40 wrench for the two torx bolts holding the caliper and 18mm wrench for the caliper hanger if you are changing the rotor. There is also a small torx screw holding the rotor( don't know the size) i used a flat screw driver to get it out-pretty easy. Lock the doors, when u "jack" lift the car in the air the alarm will go off(mine did) don't turn the alarm off. Let it go off until it shuts itself off( neighbors will think ur crazy? this disables the entire system. Yes I even made an experiment to open the doors to see if the SBC (sensortronic brake )system will energize. IT DID NOT. This is pretty easy total time both wheels 1.5 hrs with breaks in btwn.( 04 Benz 320 E wagon 4matic)

How to replace front brake pads on Mercedes s430
How much does it cost to replace brake pads on a 1999 Mercedes Clk?
Mine doesn't but in your case I would check: what speeds, only when braking, tire inflation, brake pads, front end alignment, etc.
The best brake pads would be the factory mercedes-benz brake pads. I have seen lots of aftermarket brake pads on these cars, and all they do is squeak. So you can usually never go wrong with factory parts.
JUST TAKE IT TO MIDAS
To change the brake pads on a 1999 Mercedes SLK 230, first, lift the car and remove the wheel to access the brake caliper. Unbolt the caliper using a socket wrench, then slide it off the rotor. Remove the old brake pads, compress the caliper piston using a brake tool, and install the new pads. Finally, reattach the caliper, secure it with bolts, and replace the wheel before lowering the car.
