A 2005 has 3 coil boots on the front head, and 3 wires w/boots for the rear plugs.
If it is a 3.5 unhook battery remove coil packs on top of valve covers and unplug, pull boots from plugs remove plugs with spark plug socket. be sure engine is cool set gap is printed on emision tag. make sure coil probes line up in boots when reinstalling coil packs
It doesn't have spark plug wires. The boots that are on the bottoms of the coils are only available as part of a new coil.
Pull old ones off coil and stick new ones on.
these engines have a coil on plug. first i would change the spark plug boots because they are known to cause this issue by grounding spark from the coil to the block. its best if you can check misfire condition with a scan tool to determine this. if the plug boots dont fix the problem then try the coil pack. if that doesnt work check for a manifold leak (coolant or vacume). good luck
How do you change a coil pack on a 1997 cavalier
boots is... gone :(
Can you change the metal spikes to plastic ones on puma soccer boots
there is no need to change the coil packs just to do routine maintanence
u have to pull the whole distributer to change the pickup coil
Not unless the coil has failed. Not unless the coil has failed.
remove the ignition coil/module cover from top of engine. 4 bolts, if the spark plug boots adhere to the spark plugs, remove them with a wire puller or simillar. and install them on the secondary housing terminals. the boots must be installed on housing plate before instalation or you may damage the boots. remove the ignition coil housing screws 4 screws. and remove the housing, then remove the coils.
