you will have to drop the tank. to do so:
unplug the sending unit inside the car (under the rear seat base passenger side under a flap of carpet and a plastic cap there are 2 plugs)
raise and support the rear of the car on jack stands
remove the filler neck bolt under the car
remove the small breather hose clamp and rubber pipe and the large filler clamp and pipe.
remove the purge line will need a special tool or just clip the fitting to get it apart
remove the nut off both gas tank straps
lower the tank (takes a bit of wiggleing)
the line is clipped into the top of the sending unit. press the clip back and wiggle the line till it pulls free.
the process is in reverse to install
How do you change a fuel filter in a 1997 Honda Prelude
You should change your fuel filter every 90,000 to 100,000 miles.
To change the fuel filter in a 2001 Saab 9-3, first, relieve the fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls. Next, disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Locate the fuel filter under the car, typically along the fuel line, and use appropriate tools to remove the old filter, noting the flow direction. Install the new filter in the same orientation, reconnect everything, and check for leaks before starting the engine.
The fuel filter on a Saab 9-5 is located above the gas tank in the rear of the vehicle. The fuel filter has a line leading to the EFI (Electronic Fuel Injector) in the engine, a vapor line for the gas tank, and a fuel line from the gas tank.
Drain the fuel from the fuel tank. Remove the fuel line from the fuel filter. Remove the fuel filter plate. Remove the fuel filter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new fuel filter.
Isn't one
I will be doing this myself in a weekend or so. According to this website it is near the right rear wheel. http://www.thesaabsite.com/Saab-95-fuel-filter-replacement.htm
every 130,000 miles :)
I am having trouble finding the fuel pressure relief valve on my 1997 F150 pickup.
The fuel filter on the 1997 Silverado is located inside of the fuel tank.
screw it off
Really? Unclip the cover and remove the old filter. It's easy.
