The easiest way is to buy OEM (Original Equipment) replacement wires, and replace them one wire at a time. If you do it this way you won't have a problem with the firing order.

1. Remove one of the old wires and match it up with a new one of the same length.
2. Replace that old wire with a new one.

Repeat the above steps for each remaining wire.
Pick up a set of spark plugs at the same time, and ask the person behind the counter to set the gap on them for you. Replace these as you replace the wires. Snug each plug in and give it a quarter of a turn to tighten it in. DON'T OVERTIGHTEN!!! The engine will expand and contract as it heats up and cools off, and the plugs will become tighter when this process happens. If you tighten them too much at the start you will have a terrible time changing them the next time around.
